Abstract
The present study, rooted in religious orientation theory, invited participants attending Bishop Barron’s event in London during February 2025 to complete measures of Catholic orientation and charismatic orientation. Data provided by 422 participants replicated the findings from 490 participants attending Bishop Barron’s London event in February 2023. Taken together these data suggest that among the followers of Bishop Barron distinctive charisms at the heart of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal have been repurposed to accommodate a priest-led cognitive faith (in the mind) in place of a lay-led affective faith (in the heart).
